Wagtail Park is a quiet, 10-acre touring park in Huntington, on the north-eastern edge of York. Our spacious, level pitches sit in open countryside, yet York city centre is only minutes away by car or by the bus from Monks Cross Park & Ride.

If you are comparing touring caravan sites in York, you will find our pitches larger than most, our access roads wider and our evenings noticeably quieter. Pitch up once, unhitch, and use the park as a calm base for the city, the Moors and the coast.

Spacious Grass & Hardstanding Pitches

Choose a grass pitch for a softer, greener setting or a hardstanding pitch for firm footing in wetter months. Both are laid out with generous gaps between neighbours, so you are not looking straight into the next awning.

80m² Pitches with 16-Amp Electric Hook-Up

Every touring pitch measures around 80m². That is enough room for your caravan, a full awning, your tow car and an outdoor table and chairs, without anything spilling onto the access track.

16-amp electric hook-up points run across the touring areas, so you can run heating, a fridge and a kettle without tripping the supply. If you are searching for caravan pitches in York with electric included, every pitch has access to a nearby hook-up point.

  • Grass or hardstanding surfaces
  • Around 80m² per pitch
  • 16-amp electric hook-up across the touring areas
  • Room for caravan, awning and car together

Twin-Axle Caravan & Large Outfit Friendly

Many twin axle caravan sites in North Yorkshire sit at the end of narrow lanes with tight turns. Wagtail Park is moments from the A64 and the A1237 outer ring road, with wide gates and internal roads built for larger outfits.

There are no tight village corners, single-track lanes or low bridges on the approach. Twin-axle caravans, long tow vehicles and RV-style setups can arrive, turn and pitch without a stressful reverse.

Dog-Friendly Touring Park

Your dogs are part of the trip, so they are welcome here too. If you are looking for dog friendly caravan sites in York, we welcome up to three dogs on each touring pitch, at no extra charge.

Pitch Rules for Up to 3 Dogs

To keep the park relaxed for every guest, we ask dog owners to follow a few simple rules:

  • Up to 3 well-behaved dogs per touring pitch, with no extra charge
  • Dogs on a lead at all times around the park
  • Clean up after your dog and use the bins provided
  • Do not leave dogs unattended on your pitch or in your caravan
  • Dogs are not permitted in or around the camping pod area

There is space around the park for a stretch of the legs, and quiet local walking routes nearby for longer walks.

Heated Wet Rooms for Touring Guests

Our central amenity block is heated all year and cleaned to a high standard. Instead of a shared shower room, it has individual wet rooms, so you get privacy and a warm space whatever the weather.

  • Individual heated wet rooms: private, fully tiled cubicles, each with a hot shower, toilet and washbasin

  • Indoor dishwashing sinks: wash up under cover rather than outdoors
  • Chemical disposal point: easy to reach from the touring pitches
